LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock man died in a crash in Martin County early Monday morning.
At 6:30 a.m., troopers responded to a head-on crash on State Highway 349 and CR 4800.
Crash investigators say a Cadillac SRX was southbound on SH 349 when it veered onto the rumble strips and the driver over-corrected into the northbound lanes.
That’s when the driver, 21-year-old Francisco Alex Ramos Valasquez, of Lubbock, struck a Mercedes traveling northbound head-on.
The driver of the Mercedes, 46-year-old Samuel Lookadoo, died at the scene of the crash.
Valasquez was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
