Authorities say the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Monday on State Highway 349 at County Road 4800 in Martin County.
MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — A Lubbock man is dead after a crash Monday morning on State Highway 349, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS says the crash happened when a 2010 Cadillac SRX traveling south on State Highway 349 veered onto rumble strips. The driver then overcorrected, crossing into the northbound lanes.
A 2010 Mercedes driven by 46-year-old Samuel Jones Lookadoo was heading north on State Highway 349 when it was struck head-on.
Lookadoo was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Cadillac SRX was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
