Tim Hardaway, a UTEP legend and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, will return to the Sun City for an exclusive book signing event on Saturday, March 28.

Hardaway, author of the new autobiography Killer Crossover: My Life from the Chicago Streets to Basketball Royalty, will appear at the Sun City Card Show at Starlight Event Center. The signing offers fans a chance to purchase a signed copy of the book and gain admission to the Sun City Card Show for $35. Copies are limited to the first 300 purchasers and pre-orders are available online now.

Considered one of the best point guards of his generation and one of the best players to come out of UTEP, Hardaway had a distinguished college career with the Miners under legendary coach Don Haskins before being selected in the first round of the 1989 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. He quickly became a household name as part of the “Run TMC” trio alongside Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin.

In Killer Crossover, “UTEP Two-Step” recounts his journey from a tough upbringing in Chicago, through his time at UTEP and into the NBA. He details his experiences as a master ball handler and trash talker, facing off against Hall of Famers such as Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Patrick Ewing and Reggie Miller during the 1990s.

After joining the Miami Heat in ’96, Hardaway played a key role in one of basketball’s most intense rivalries of the ’90s against the New York Knicks, teaming with players including Alonzo Mourning, Dan Majerle and Jamal Mashburn.

The book also addresses challenges beyond the court. Hardaway reflects on his 2007 anti-gay comments during a radio interview, which drew widespread criticism and significantly impacted his public image. He describes adapting with a “crossover” mentality, talking about humbling himself, learning from the experience and becoming an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. He has worked with organizations such as The Trevor Project and The YES Institute.

Killer Crossover is described as more than a basketball memoir; it chronicles Hardaway’s rise from humble beginnings to NBA All-Star status, his role as a father to a future NBA player, and the personal trials that accompanied his success on the court.

The Sun City Card Show runs March 28-29, with expanded vendor space this year. For more details on the event and to secure a ticket for the book signing, visit SunCityCardShow915.com.
