AUSTIN, Texas – No. 3 Texas returns home to face East Texas A&M at 6 p.m. CT Wednesday, March 11, at McCombs Field. The game will simulcast on SEC Network+ with Andrew Haynes on the call. Fans can also listen to Haynes’ on the radio at TexasLonghorns.com.

The Longhorns currently hold a 20-game winning streak dating back to Feb. 7, the second-longest winning streak in program history and the longest since 2006.


The Longhorns are 9-1 against ranked opponents with two wins over top-10 opponents.
Texas is fresh off of the program’s first Women’s College World Series (WCWS) National Championship in 2025. The Longhorns finished the historic season with a program-record 56 victories and a 56-12 overall record.
The Longhorns’ 10-2 postseason run in 2025 culminated with a 2-1 Championship Series (third appearance in four years) win over Texas Tech. In the winner-takes-all game three, the Longhorns clinched a 10-4 victory.
Head coach Mike White is in his eighth season at helm of the Texas program and holds a 338-94-2 (.781) overall record during his time on the Forty Acres. In 17 combined seasons between Oregon (nine seasons) and Texas (eight seasons), White sports a 774-205-4 (.789) overall record.
Texas is coming off a road sweep at No. 24 South Carolina on March 6-8 to open SEC play. Texas took the series opener, 4-2, won the second game, 3-0, and clinched the series sweep with a 5-2 victory in the finale.
Wednesday will be the first meeting between the two programs.
Texas was19-1 through its first 20 games for the third-consecutive year. The 19-1 start through 20 games tied the program record for best start to a season. The Longhorns have gone 19-1 in their first 20 games six times in program history (2026, 2025, 2024, 2012, 2006, 2003).
Following East Texas A&M on Wednesday, the Longhorns will host Ole Miss for their SEC home opener at 5:30 p.m. CT Friday, March 13, at McCombs Field. The game will be available on SEC Network+.

Kavan named SEC Pitcher of the Week

Junior RHP Teagan Kavan was named the Southeastern Conference’s Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. It’s Kavan second career SEC weekly honor and her first since earning SEC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 17, 2025.

Previously this season, Kavan was named D1Softball’s National Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 24 – her third career national honor from the publication. Texas has received two conference weekly honors this season. Reese Atwood was tabbed SEC Player of the Week on Feb. 9.

Kavan guided Texas to a road series sweep over No. 24 South Carolina to open league play on March 6-8 in Columbia, S.C. The West Des Moines, Iowa, native went 1-0 with a save in two appearances (one start) vs. the Gamecocks, recording a 0.88 ERA. Kavan surrendered just one earned run on six hits across 8.0 IP with seven strikeouts. Kavan did not give up an extra-base hit and held opponents to a .214 batting average.

In the 4-2 series opening win vs. South Carolina on March 6, Kavan turned in her sixth complete game of the season in her five-strikeout effort. Kavan gave up just one earned run on six hits across 7.0 IP. She worked around three walks and stranded six runners on the base paths. She registered two 1-2-3 frames.

In Texas’ 3-0 game two victory vs. the Gamecocks on March 7, Kavan and senior RHP Citlaly Gutierrez combined for a four-hit shutout to clinch the series. Kavan earned her first save of the season after entering the seventh in relief, retiring all three batters she faced with three strikeouts.

On the season, Kavan (9-0) has appeared in 12 games with nine starts and sports a 1.96 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. Kavan leads the team in wins (9), complete games (6), shutouts (2), innings pitched (57.0) and strikeouts (73).

Kavan’s 57 career wins are the 11th-most amongst active NCAA players.
