Police say the first suspect arrested wouldn’t tell police who the shooter was, but after another witness came forward, she gave up the shooter.

SAN ANTONIO — Police in San Antonio have arrested a second suspect in the 2024 killing of a 20-year-old man who was found shot to death inside his apartment, authorities said.

Investigators say 24-year-old Felix Garcia has been arrested in connection with the death of Isaiah Guevara, whose body was discovered in the early morning hours of Oct. 26, 2024, inside an apartment on the 5300 block of Fredericksburg Road near Callaghan Road.

Garcia is being held in the Bexar County Jail on a $250,000 bond, according to online jail records.

The arrest follows the earlier charging of 19-year-old Julie Lopez, who was arrested in January 2025 and accused of Guevara’s murder.

According to police, a neighbor reported hearing gunshots the night of the killing and later noticed bullet holes in the wall of their apartment. The neighbor told investigators he saw two men running from the scene while he heard a woman yelling at them outside the apartment. Nearby surveillance video captured similar activity, police said.

A few days later, a homeless man found Guevara’s cellphone in a dumpster. Investigators say the phone contained Instagram messages from Lopez arranging to meet with Guevara in the hours leading up to the shooting.

Two months later, witnesses told police Lopez had been at the apartment the night Guevara was killed. Another witness reported that Lopez told a relative the killing had been a setup, investigators said.

After Lopez was arrested, police said she initially refused to identify the two men who were with her during the incident. According to investigators, a tip later identified Garcia as the alleged shooter. Police say Lopez subsequently confirmed Garcia’s identity.

Family members of Guevara said the second arrest brings mixed emotions.

“It’s a bittersweet moment,” Christina Rodriguez, Isaiah’s aunt, said. “We’re happy that justice is being served, but it doesn’t bring Isaiah back.”

Guevara’s family said his death has deeply affected them and continues to be painful for his mother and relatives.

“There’s no emotion to even identify to explain how difficult it is for my family and I,” Angel Rodriguez, Isaiah’s cousin, said.

The family said they were disappointed they did not receive direct notification from detectives about the arrest and instead learned about it through news reports from KENS 5.

Despite the renewed grief, relatives say they remain committed to seeing the case through the court process.

“We’re going to fight this until we see justice,” Christina Rodriguez said. “We’ll continue to pray as a family for God’s justice to come over this situation.”
