After several days of severe weather, Wednesday could bring one more round of storms to North Texas, along with the potential for localized flooding.

The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued an alert about the severe weather threat on Tuesday afternoon. “A final found of storms will occur on Wednesday as the upper low moves overhead and a cold front pushes south through the area,” the alert reads.

It continues, “A few storms may become severe with damaging winds, hail, and a tornado or two all possible. Brief heavy rain may also cause localized flooding.”

The most likely time for severe storms is between 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Residents should ensure they have multiple ways of receiving weather warnings, including TV, cell phone, or weather radio.

This news comes after Tuesday saw a Tornado Watch issued for portions of North Texas near and north of I-20. Other portions of North and Central Texas, along and east of I-35, were under a severe storm watch until the early morning hours.

After the storm chances exit the region on Wednesday, the NWS expects the rest of the week and weekend to be much drier with a warming trend. Over the weekend, expect highs ranging from the mid-upper 70s to near 90.

A strong cold front will move through the region on Sunday, bringing much cooler conditions next Monday, when high temperatures should be in the 50s and 60s.
