SAN ANTONIO – A man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman who was holding her three-month-old baby at a Northeast Bexar County gas station.

The incident happened early Saturday morning in the 16500 block of Shepherd Road.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of an assault involving a woman and her infant child.

The altercation began as a verbal argument between the man, identified as Juan Cisneros, 28, and the woman. The woman then attempted to walk away from Cisneros in an effort to get to safety, when witnesses at the scene say they saw Cisneros grab the woman by the hair and throw her to the ground while she was still holding the three-month-old baby in her arms.

Bystanders described her as extremely shaken and said Cisneros continued yelling at her as she lay on the ground.

He fled the scene before deputies arrived, but authorities located and arrested him.

Cisneros has been booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center and is charged with Assault – Family Violence and Abandoning or Endangering a Child.
