Houston police said the teens were playing with a gun when it went off and the 17-year-old boy was shot and killed. The teen girl was brought in for questioning.
HOUSTON — A 17-year-old was shot and killed Wednesday morning at a townhome in the Sharpstown area.
It happened at a townhome on Fondren Road between the Westpark Tollway and the Southwest Freeway.
According to Houston Police Department Sgt. Mark Holbrook, a 17-year-old male was playing with a gun along with an 18-year-old girl when the gun “accidentally” went off, and the 17-year-old was hit.
Family members heard the gunshot and rushed to help. The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died.
Holbrook said the 18-year-old girl was taken into custody and was being questioned to find out exactly what happened. He said the victim was the gun owner.
