LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Residents in an area in central Lubbock, who were evacuated after a gas leak, have been given the all clear to return home, Lubbock Fire Rescue says.
The gas leak affected more than a dozen homes near 18th St. and Toledo Avenue.
Around 11 a.m., LFR says a third party damaged a four-inch gas line, which caused the leak.
Fire crews ordered 17 homes to be evacuated and LP&L isolated the power to homes between Quaker Ave. and Utica Ave.
Barricades are still in place at this time, obstructing traffic, however, the street is not closed. ATMOS will be on scene making repairs for the next week.
