According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, two left lanes on westbound US 290 are closed, and authorities are warning drivers to expect significant delays in the area for an extended period of time.

No injuries were reported.

“The pilot was uninjured and no other vehicles or members of the public were affected,” the Oak Hill Fire Department said on Facebook. “Engine troubles resulted in the emergency landing.”

Driver Ryan Dorer shared a video with CBS Austin. He said he was driving home from work when he saw the plane above him.

“All of a sudden, he drops out of the sky right in front of my truck doing 60 miles an hour,” Dorer said on Facebook. “He managed to get the plane right and stop it right in the middle of the highway and all I can say is God is good.”

CBS Austin has a crew on the way to the scene.
