Plano proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the McKinney Boyd Broncos 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that’s the closest win the Wildcats have posted since February 12th.

Cadence Charland was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Charland was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Pecenka was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. What’s more, she posted two runs, the most she’s had since back in April of 2025. Aubrey Zhang was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.

Plano has been performing well recently as they’ve won three of their last four matchups. That’s provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for McKinney Boyd, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.
