The new league year is underway, and a surprising development happened, as Dallas Goedert was not listed as a free agent on Wednesday after the void date on his contract was pushed to Friday, giving the Eagles time to negotiate an extension. Roseman said the Eagles are losing lesser-talented players, so the team can retain elite talent with contracts looming. One player who could depart is Dallas Goedert. When his contract is voided, Philadelphia will accrue a $20 million dead cap hit if the tight end signs with another team.

Goedert is 31 years old, and despite his overwhelming talents, the tight end has never had a 1,000-yard season or made the Pro Bowl. Still, Goedert is a warrior, and when he’s healthy, the talented pass catcher is one of the NFL’s top tight ends. In one of the healthiest seasons of his career, Goedert started 15 games, catching 60 passes for 591 yards and a career-high and Eagles franchise high 11 touchdown catches. Goedert had touchdowns in the playoff loss.
