The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back an old friend. Wednesday is the start of the new league year in an official capacity, 4pm ET is the time to watch, which is when deals like Jalen Thompson, Rashan Gary, so on and so forth, can all be formally processed.
You can now add another one to the list for the Cowboys.
Dallas is bringing back Tyrus Wheat
It was reported on Wednesday that the Cowboys are bringing back Tyrus Wheat. The Cowboys were Wheat’s first NFL team before he left to join the Detroit Lions, and he is now back in the fold.
Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram was specific in noting that Wheat helps the Cowboys in a special teams capacity, so it feels like that is probably where he slots in here.
The Cowboys are clearly shoring up needs and re-stocking the cupboard for depth and special teams purposes, and bringing Wheat back is another step in that overall direction.
