If doomscrolling has lost its luster, indulge yourself in the power of printed matter instead.
The Dallas Art Book Fair, which has brought the best of DIY publishing to the Dallas Contemporary for five years, is back and bigger than ever, with 89 exhibitors. The free event returns March 21-22 (with a member preview on March 20) with an array of vendors, including indie-film darlings A24 and local heroes Deep Vellum and Fine Print.
Founded by Gino Dal Cin, DC’s senior manager of development operations, the fair, designed to showcase individual artists and illustrators, cannot help but unite the local literati in perfect harmony.
“It’s so cool to see the Dallas Art Book Fair bring a lot of great attention to the super talented book and zine makers living in Dallas,” he says. “My hope is to encourage those folks who have never made a zine that everyone has a capacity to express themselves through the medium.”
