Tornado warnings in Central Georgia are impacted multiple counties during the morning hours, including Bibb, Laurens, Houston, Baldwin, Twiggs and more.
MACON, Ga. — Tornado warnings were been issued in multiple Central Georgia counties Thursday morning, including Houston, Macon-Bibb, Jones, Laurens and more.
There have been multiple tornado warnings issued during the morning hours of Thursday. 13WMAZ is working to assess the situation and gather reports on damage and roadblocks.Â

8:57: Macon-Bibb County is reporting that Tucker Road is closed between Price Road and Thomaston Road due to a downed power line, which is blocking the road. Public works and Georgia Power are working together to address the problem, Floore said.Â
There are also reports of stop lights not working, which Floore says drivers should treat as a stop sign. Any damage or stop lights not working should be reported to 478-751-7500, but any emergencies should be called into 911.Â
8:41.: Macon County EMA Roy Yoder says that Macon County was badly hit during the storm.Â
He says that he’s pretty sure the county was hit by a tornado, which has left roughly 60 people displaced. The area around Sleepy Hollow Road was hit bad, Yoder said, but he urged people to avoid the area.Â
8:32 a.m. : Houston County Fire Chief Christopher Stoner says that, despite a radar indicated tornado, the county has not seen significant damage. He says there have been a few trees down here and there, but as of now, no major damage.
8:15: Stratford Academy are currently on a delayed start until 10 AM as we assess campus and road conditions.
8:10: According to Georgia Department of Transportation’s 511 website, State Highway 90 blocked in Dooly due to debris. Drivers should exercise caution across Central Georgia. Â
8:00: Houston County Schools has resumed pick-up and school operations. Middle School will begin at 8 a.m., high schools will resume at 8:30 a.m. and elementary school reopen at 9 a.m.Â
7:55: Tornado warnings are currently active in Laurens County this morning. Other warnings have since been canceled or delayed.Â
7:40: Baldwin County Schools are still accepting students, and students are sheltering in place until the warning passes. They are encouraging everyone to shelter in place and are not counting anyone as tardy today.Â

7:34: Bibb County Schools has a delayed start this morning. Start times pushed back an hourÂ
8:30 AM for high schools9:20 AM for elementary10:05 AM for middle schools.
7:31: All non essential offices in Warner Robins will delay opening until 9 a.m.Â
7:30: Central Fellowship Christian Academy is delayed until 9 a.m., according to the school
7:28: A tornado warning has been issued for Baldwin, Hancock and Washington Counties. The NWS says this warning lasts until 8 a.m.Â
7:18: Buses are paused in Peach County due to the active weather conditions. They say routes will resume when the adverse conditions pass. Jones County has also confirmed that buses are paused. They district says routes will resume when its safe to do say. Â
7:16 a.m.: Power outage are impacting at least 7258 customers.

7:14 a.m.: Monroe County Schools has delayed until 9 a.m., according to the district.Â
7:11 a.m.: Houston County schools says students and staff should stay home until the active tornado warnings pass. Bus transportation has been paused. The National Weather Service reports the Houston Tornado as “radar confirmed,” but its unclear if it hit the ground.Â
7:10 a.m.: Georgia Power is showing multiple power outages in Central Georgia this morning, including in Macon-Bibb County.
7 a.m.: Bus services for Jones County students has been suspended ahead of the storms. The district says that they will excuse absences this morning.Â
