Investigators determined Testerman had been traveling northbound on Highway 360 in a Dodge Durango with a woman when their car stopped along the highway.

He was struck while walking by a 2025 Ford Maverick entering the highway ramp and died at the scene, according to the statement.

Police said the driver of the Ford stopped, cooperated with investigators and is not currently facing any criminal charges.

The woman who had been walking with Testerman was not injured, the statement said.

Police urge people to avoid walking on highways, including shoulder areas.

“Vehicles traveling at highway speeds can require significant distances to slow down or come to a complete stop,“ the statement said. ”If it becomes necessary to exit, individuals should do so with extreme caution and only in safe areas away from moving traffic.”
