HAYS COUNTY, Texas — Three Houston-area men have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries stretching from Kyle to Houston following a months-long multi-agency investigation, the Kyle Police Department and Hays County Sheriff’s Office said.

Cedric Ryan Scales Jr., 19; Isaiah Jacob Jaramillo, 23; and Ca’Den Dejuan Johnson, 21, each face charges of burglary of a building and engaging in organized criminal activity.

The investigation began Nov. 12, 2025, when the suspects allegedly targeted multiple Poco Loco locations, stealing cash from registers as they traveled from Kyle toward Houston.

Kyle Police and Hays County Sheriff’s Office detectives identified the suspects and linked them to additional burglary investigations across the area.

The three suspects were arrested separately over the following months. Johnson was taken into custody Dec. 8, 2025, by the Angleton Police Department in connection with a separate robbery. Jaramillo was arrested Jan. 13, 2026, by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, and Scales was apprehended March 5, 2026, also by the task force. All three arrests were connected to a separate stolen firearms investigation in Angleton.

Hays County Sheriff Anthony Hipolito said he was “thoroughly impressed with the collaboration and dedication shown by investigators from both agencies.”

Kyle Police Chief Dr. Jeff Barnett said the arrests demonstrated the value of regional law enforcement cooperation.
