Arlington Police say the incident happened at 8:36 a.m. at the intersection of Carter Dr. and Sunflower Dr
ARLINGTON, Texas — A woman is dead after a fatal motor accident Thursday morning, according to a press release from the Arlington Police Department.Â
Police say at 8:36 a.m. officers responded to the intersection of Carter Dr and Sunflower Dr after getting reports of a person who was hit by a vehicle. When they arrived, officers say they found a 23-year-old woman who was trapped under a car.Â
Police say investigators determined the woman was headed northbound along Carter Dr on a 2026 Yamaha Vino Moped, when a 2014 Nissan Sentra, which was attempting to turn onto Carter Dr from an alleyway, pulled out in front of her. Police say the woman tried to lay the moped on its side to avoid crashing into the Sentra but fell to the ground and was run over.Â
Officials say the woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, she was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead.Â
Police say the driver of the Sentra stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Officials say no criminal charges have been filed at this time.Â
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the woman once next of kin have been notified.Â
