SAGINAW – It is with great sadness but greater love that we announce the passing of Monty Ray Witthaus, who left us on March 6, 2026, at the age of 75. Monty was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on January 27, 1951, and lived a life worthy of being written into a great novel but we will stick with this short obituary. Monty was raised by his grandparents in Fort Worth, Texas. He married the love of his life, Sue, on February 12, 1972. He made a career in sales for M&M Merchandisers where he made many lifelong friendships until his retirement. Monty and Sue have spent their retired years having fun together and spending time with the family and friends they deeply love. Monty was loved by so many and known far and wide for his humor, quick wit, and his ability to make you feel like family. He had a great love for reading, movies, music and being ridiculous in hopes of getting laughs out of people. He never met a stranger and had the gift of gab that could engage and disarm anyone. Monty is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sue Witthaus; his daughter, Susan Wallace (husband, Lonny Wallace); his son, Ethan Witthaus (wife, Alisha Witthaus); his grandchildren, Caitlin Mitchell (husband, Kevin Mitchell), Nolan Lee, Cameron Blair, Kayla (Dante) Witthaus, Kathleen Witthaus, Alexa Dutton-Witthaus, Lilyan Komec; great-grandchildren, Jackson Mitchel and Logan Mitchel; and too many siblings to list out here although he loved them all deeply. Monty was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon Walker and Virginia Faye Widener; his parents, William Witthaus and Jackie Walker; and siblings, Jackie, Billy, Jimmy, and Sheila. Although Monty is no longer with us, his love, infectious laughter, warm hugs, sense of humor and sweet smile will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Monty’s life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at his home in Saginaw, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life well-lived.
