SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Fire Department is investigating an apartment fire that has left several people dealing with the effects of heavy smoke.
KSAT-12 reports the fire broke out on the North Side in the 10100 block of Sahara Drive, not far from San Pedro Avenue. When crews arrived after 3:30 a.m. Friday, they were met by flames and smoke that damaged at least four units in the complex.
Investigators believe the fire started on the second floor and spread into the attic, but other floors ended up damaged as well.
A number of people are now displaced, and it is reported at least one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
There was no word on the cause of the fire, and there was no estimate on how much damage was done.
