Burglary of a building
On March 3, a staff member reported someone had gained unauthorized access to a building after hours, UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord said in an email.
Burglary of a building is a state jail felony punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000, a jail term between 180 days and two years or both.
The case is still active.
Forgery of a financial instrument
On March 5, a staff member reported a fraudulent check, McCord said.
Forgery of a financial instrument between $100 and $750 is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, up to one year in jail or both.
Harassment (listed as stalking in the crime log under the Clery Act)
On March 4, a student reported receiving harassing messages from an unidentified person, McCord said.
Harassment is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, up to 180 days in jail or both.

Credit card or debit card abuse
On March 6, a staff member reported unauthorized charges to his UTA procurement card, McCord said.
Credit or debit card abuse is a state jail felony punishable by imprisonment of 180 days to two years, a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both.
Criminal trespass
On March 8, officers arrested an unaffiliated person for being in a campus building after receiving a criminal trespass warning, McCord said. He was transported to the Arlington Police Department jail.
If the offender has not been previously convicted of trespassing on higher education property, the offense is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, confinement in jail of up to 180 days or both.
