GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Grand Prairie City Councilmember Mike Del Bosque has died, officials said.
More details about his death were not immediately shared by city officials.
Del Bosque had served on council since 2017, representing District 3 in central/east Grand Prairie.
“A lifelong Grand Prairie resident and South Grand Prairie High School graduate, Councilmember Del Bosque served District 3 since 2017 with a proud commitment to his community,” a statement from city officials said. “Through his work, leadership, and support of students, families, and community organizations, he made a true difference in Grand Prairie. We extend our condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him.”
Last year, he was arrested on an assault charge after being accused of pushing a realtor to the ground and punching the man after he walked into Del Bosque’s medical clinic, believing the property was for sale. Del Bosque remained on council after the arrest.
