BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — All lanes of SH-288 southbound have reopened at Highway 6 in Brazoria County after a crash sparked a hazmat spill that had crews working to clear overnight.

According to reports, the incident happened at about 11:09 p.m. Wednesday, on the southbound lanes of SH-288 at Highway 6.

It’s unclear what led to the incident or if anyone was injured, but at about 6 a.m. Thursday, TxDOT shared a photo on X of the heavy truck being sat up.

As of 9 a.m., the spill was cleared off the roadway.
