Suspect detained, 2 victims injured after knife attack on CapMetro bus

The incident occurred in the 2000 block of South Lamar Boulevard Friday afternoon.

AUSTIN, Texas — Three people have been taken to the hospital, including a suspect, following a knife attack on a CapMetro bus Friday afternoon, according to the Austin Police Department (APD).

Police said officers responded to the scene in the 2000 block of South Lamar Boulevard at around 1:34 p.m. Officials with Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) transported two victims to local hospitals. One victim is reported to have non-life threatening injuries, while another victim is reported as being in critical but stable condition.

Police said a suspect has been detained in the incident. They were also taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
