Detectives say an international crime ring is hitting wealthier neighborhoods.

HOUSTON — Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing more details about an international crime ring that’s burglarizing gated communities in the southern part of the county.

Detectives say they’re investigating more than 15 burglaries in Grogan’s Point, Hollymead, Carlton Woods, and Palmer Woods.

Earlier this week, investigators said they are looking for Jose Ignacio Venegas Nieto, a 35-year-old Hispanic male, who they say also goes by the alias of Fernando Rodriguez.

Nieto has a tattoo on his left forearm that says “Lilian.”

The burglary ring is primarily targeting jewelry, investigators told KHOU 11 Friday.

Detectives say they are also looking at video of the crimes, and may release some of the video soon.
