HUNTSVILLE, Texas – NM State opened its road series at Sam Houston with a late‑inning surge, stacking runs in the middle frames to pull away in a decisive series‑opening win. After trailing 1–0 through two, the Aggies punched across runs in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh while getting a complete effort in the circle to stay unbeaten in Conference USA play. Â

Down a run in the fourth, the Aggies flipped the game on Jonnah Aragon’s two‑run home run to left, then added a solo shot from Skye Johnson in the fifth to extend the margin. Tamara Carranza opened the sixth with a solo homer and Skye Johnson later roped an RBI double, before Lauren Garcia put the game on ice with a two‑run homer in the seventh. In the circle, Faith Aragon went the distance, striking out eight and limiting the Bearkats to one run on eight hits. Â
