The police department says there is no active threat to the public. They have not made an arrest in the shooting.
PERRY, Ga. — A man was fatally shot in Perry on Thursday night, according to the Perry Police Department.
They said in a media release that around 9:28 p.m., they got a call about shots being fired at the Houston Lake Apartments.
After officers checked the area where they thought shots were fired, they found the man who was shot, according to the police department.
They said that the victim was pronounced dead by the Houston County Coroner’s Office. He has been identified as Diandre Oaks, 29.
They said that they do not think there is an active threat to the public.
No arrests in the shooting have been made yet, and the police department said that investigators with Perry and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are continuing to follow up on “possible leads.”
