They both won $1 million on different lottery games, according to the Texas Lottery.

HOUSTON — Two Houston-area residents are celebrating big wins after claiming $1 million prizes from separate Texas Lottery scratch-off games.

A Kingwood resident claimed a top prize of $1 million in the Texas Lottery scratch ticket game Mega Millionaire. The winning ticket was bought at Kingwood Mart at 4003 Rustic Woods Drive, Suite C, in Houston. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

For selling the winning ticket, the retailer may be eligible for a $10,000.  This was the first of four top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in the game. The overall odds of winning any prize in Mega Millionaire are one in 3.84, according to the Texas Lottery.

In a separate win, a Hempstead resident claimed a $1 million top prize in the Texas Lottery scratch ticket game $1,000,000 Riches. The winning ticket was bought at Fuel Maxx #60 at 45620 Highway 290 in Prairie View. That winner also chose to remain anonymous.

The retailer that sold the ticket may be eligible for a $10,000 bonus, as well. This marked the first of four $1 million top prizes claimed in the game. The Texas Lottery says overall odds of winning any prize in $1,000,000 Riches are one in 3.82.

The Texas Lottery posted about both wins earlier this week.
