(Gray News) – A man killed in a standoff with a Dallas SWAT team was believed to have been a longtime member of U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security team, according to reports.
KDFW reported a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for impersonating an officer was shot and killed by police in a parking garage at Children’s Health Hospital early Thursday.
According to KDFW, officers were investigating an active warrant and had followed the man into the parking garage, where the man had barricaded himself in a car.
A SWAT team was called as the standoff continued and tear gas was used to get the man out.

Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said that when the man came out of the car, he had a gun and pointed at the officers, who fired their weapons in response.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
CBS News Texas reported its unnamed sources identified the man as 39-year-old Diamon‑Mazairre Robinson.
CBS News Texas said Robinson had recently used the alias “Mike King,” ran a business placing police officers in off‑duty jobs, and worked on Crockett’s detail.
During its investigation into Robinson’s criminal history, CBS News Texas discovered he was arrested seven times for theft in Dallas and the surrounding areas between 2009 and 2012. It reported that he appeared to have pleaded guilty to all the convictions.
Robinson was able to make a new life for himself under the alias Mike King, sources told CBS News Texas.
As King, Robinson became a security officer for Crockett while she was in office and during her recent U.S. Senate campaign. Images obtained by CBS News Texas apparently show Robinson standing near Crockett during events.
Officers told CBS News Texas that Robinson said he was a detective with the U.S. Capitol Police, which may have led to the federal investigation that resulted in a warrant for his arrest.
Crockett’s office has not made any additional comments. The Dallas Police Department has not provided any further information.
