COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for retired College Station Police Department Assistant Chief Brandy Norris, a trailblazing law enforcement leader remembered for her decades of service, compassion and commitment to her community.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, from 4-7 p.m. at Blue Forge Alliance, located at 3891 S. Traditions Drive in Bryan.
A funeral service will follow Saturday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church, located at 4201 Texas 6 Frontage Road in College Station.
College Station Police Department Motors will conduct an escort for the Norris family beginning at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, traveling from Peach Creek Road to the College Station Police Department before proceeding to Christ Church for the service. All marked first responder vehicles are asked to stage in the CSPD parking lot off Dartmouth Street. Designated parking will be available for family and first responder vehicles.
Residents should expect minor traffic delays in the area during the escort on Saturday morning.
Norris made history as the first female peace officer to serve as chief of enforcement for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the first woman to oversee the day-to-day operations of a statewide police force. She spent more than two decades serving the people of College Station, rising through the ranks of the CSPD before leading at the state level.
Retired College Station Police Chief Scott McCollum described her as a true servant leader with “a big heart for service, a big heart for people.”
