Port Aransas Police say four people were shot after a fight broke out near Beach Marker 20 around midnight.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Police in Port Aransas are investigating a shooting that happened around midnight near Beach Marker 20.

According to reports from our partners at the Port Aransas South Jetty, four people were shot after an altercation broke out on the beach.

Port Aransas Police Chief James Stokes confirmed those details on camera in an interview posted to the South Jetty’s social media page.

Stokes said the four people who were shot were taken to area hospitals. At this time, there is no word on their conditions.

Police also say suspects have been taken in for questioning as the investigation is ongoing.
