Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and his revamped coaching staff will head into the spring practice season, starting next Friday, focused on installing the scheme and introducing the 17 transfer portal additions, combined with 26 signees from the 2026 recruiting class. However, the 2027 recruiting cycle will also be a clear focus, and one of Elko’s priority targets has reportedly decommitted from Alabama.
On Saturday, amid all the college basketball chaos ahead of the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, four-star edge rusher Jabarrius Garror, who has been committed to Alabama since July of 2024, has received plenty of attention from Texas A&M and Florida State, and is set to take an official visit to College Station on June 5. Similar to fellow four-star edge commit Kaden McCarty, Garror is one of the more terrifying pass rushers in the country and has the numbers to back it up.
A Mobile, Alabama native, the Crimson Tide will continue to be heavily involved, and will attempt to get Garror back in the fold, set to take an OV to Tuscaloosa on June 18, while he will also take official visits to Auburn in late May, and Texas on June 12, a week after visiting the Aggies.
On the field, Garror, as I stated above, has terrorized offensive linemen over his last two seasons, totaling 210 tackles, 42.5 sacks, and 88.5 tackles for loss, combined with seven pass deflections during his sophomore and junior campaigns at Vigor High School. For the Aggies, this visit could prove immensely beneficial heading into an important summer.
According to 247Sports, Garror is currently positioned as the 90th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 12th-ranked edge, and the No. 3-ranked prospect in Alabama.
