Police say a man was shot early Sunday morning at a south San Antonio apartment complex after an argument involving a suspect and a woman.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating an early morning shooting at a south San Antonio apartment complex that left one man with life-threatening injuries.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 1:53 a.m. Sunday to the 12000 block of Club House Boulevard for a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old man with apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the shooting happened while a 38-year-old man and an unidentified woman were arguing at the location. At some point during the incident, the suspect fired a gun and struck the victim.

Earlier radio traffic indicated the suspect knocked on an apartment door and fired when it was opened, hitting the victim in the face.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, and no arrests have been made.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including SAPD, the San Antonio Fire Department, EMS and Crime Scene Investigators, who worked to collect evidence.

Police say it is still unclear what led up to the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
