City of San Antonio Animal Care Services is inviting the community to its “Sunday Funday” adoption event this weekend, offering fee-waived adoptions to help more shelter pets find homes.

The event will take place Sunday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the city’s municipal shelter located at 4710 State Highway 151.

Dozens of adoptable dogs will be available to meet, and San Antonio Pets Alive! will also participate with pets housed in their on-campus kennels.

Shelter officials say the event comes during the busy spring intake season, when more animals arrive at the shelter and space becomes limited.

Every pet adopted from Animal Care Services leaves spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. New adopters will also receive access to training resources from SAACS for the life of the pet.

Events like Sunday Funday help move animals “from kennel to couch,” connecting families with pets ready for loving homes while making room for animals still arriving at the shelter.

Organizers encourage residents to arrive early, as adoptable pets often find homes quickly during these events.
