PORT ARANSAS, Texas — Four people were injured in a shooting late Saturday night on the beach in Port Aransas.

Local authorities responded to reports of gunfire near an area known as “Hole 20” on the beach around midnight. When officers arrived, they found four individuals who had been shot.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation that occurred before the gunfire, though details about what led up to the incident have not yet been released.

All four victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Two of the victims are in critical condition, while the other two suffered serious injuries.

Several suspects have been detained and are being questioned.
