A woman has been identified as the moped rider who died after being run over by a car in Arlington on Thursday.
Victoria Johanna Curtis died from blunt force injuries at 9:19 a.m. following a vehicle accident, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.
Arlington police responded to the intersection of Carter and Sunflower drives at 8:36 a.m. and said they found the 23-year-old woman trapped underneath a vehicle.
Police determined Curtis was on a 2026 Yamaha Vino Moped and headed northbound on Carter Drive when a 2014 Nissan Sentra attempted to turn from an alleyway onto the road.

As the Nissan pulled out in front of Curtis, police said she attempted to lay the moped on its side to avoid colliding with the Nissan, but she fell to the ground and was run over.
Curtis was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
In a news release issued Thursday, police said that the driver of the Nissan was cooperating with investigators and that no criminal charges had been filed.
