ARLINGTON, Texas – The UTA Movin’ Mavs wrapped up a competitive weekend of wheelchair basketball at the College Park Center March 14th – 15th, hosting several top programs and posting strong performances from both the men’s and women’s teams..

Tournament Results

The Movin’ Mavs went 3-2 over the weekend, while the Lady Movin’ Mavs went 3-1. Both teams demonstrated consistency and competitiveness over the two-day tournament, handling multiple match ups against strong opponents and building momentum as the season progresses.

Moving Mavs (Men’s)


W 96–34 vs. Eastern Washington
L 72–64 vs. Alabama

Lady Moving Mavs (Women’s)

Next Stop: National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championships
With the home tournament complete, both Movin’ Mavs teams are set to travel to Tucson, Arizona, to compete in the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championships hosted by the University of Arizona from April 1st – 4th. The Movin’ Mavs aim to add to their 12 total national championships at this premier collegiate wheelchair basketball tournament, which brings together top programs from across the country.

The NIWBT highlights elite competition, sportsmanship, and the continued growth of adaptive athletics at the collegiate level, showcasing both the athletic excellence of wheelchair basketball and the leadership, inclusion, and camaraderie it fosters. Updates on the national championships will be announced at a later date.
