The Texas A&M baseball program tied the game in the eighth inning, but the Oklahoma Sooners drew a game-winning walk to score a run in the bottom of the eighth to take the series from the Aggies in Norman on Sunday afternoon.

While the bats took a while to get hot for the Aggies in Game 3, it was a different story for the Sooners. Entering the third inning, Oklahoma claimed a 6-0 lead over Texas A&M with timely hitting and capitalizing on errors by the Aggies.

Terrence Kiel II and Caden Sorrell notched the first runs of the contest for the Maroon and White in the third, followed by a two-RBI double by Jake Duer to cut the Sooner lead to two. Oklahoma wasn’t done tacking on runs, however. Trey Gambill blasted a two-run home run to extend the lead to 8-4 entering the fourth inning.

The Sooners held a three-run lead entering the eighth inning, but the Aggies showed signs of life. Sorrell secured his third RBI and Duer produced a three-run double to tie the game at 11.

Texas A&M’s pitching woes loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth and walked in a run with two outs. With one last opportunity to make something happen, the Aggies went down in order in the top of the ninth. Oklahoma claimed a gritty series win over Texas A&M at Kimrey Family Stadium.

Next up, Texas A&M will return to Bryan-College Station for a six-game home stretch beginning against Texas State on Tuesday. The Aggies’ first SEC home series of the 2026 campaign is slated to begin at 6 p.m. CT on Friday against the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Aggies fall just short of the series win in Norman, falling to 16-3 (1-2 in SEC). Sorrell led the way at the plate for Texas A&M with three hits and three RBIs. Next up, the Aggies will travel back to Bryan-College Station for a home game against Texas State on Tuesday. They face Georgia at Blue Bell Park for the first SEC home series of 2026 next weekend.

Tie game. Duer comes up clutch again for the Aggies with a three-run double down the left field line with two outs. Partida flied out to end the inning, but Texas A&M ties the game at 11 entering the bottom half of the eighth.

Oklahoma plates two runs in the seventh on walks but leaves the bases stranded. The situation could have gone from bad to worse for the Aggies, but Vargas does a nice job bouncing back and escaping the inning with minimal damage.

The Aggies plated a run in the top half of the inning, as Grahovac scored on a wild pitch, but the Sooners are back threatening with two runners on and just one out in the seventh.
