DAYTON, Ohio — The tip-off time for The University of Texas’ NCAA First Four contest on Tuesday, March 17 has been set for approximately 8:10 p.m. Central (9:10 p.m. Eastern), CBS Sports and Turner Sports announced Sunday night. The Longhorns (18-14, 9-9 SEC), the No. 11 seed in the West Region, will face No. 11 seed NC State (20-13, 10-8 ACC) at the University of Dayton Arena, and the game will be televised nationally by truTV with Brian Anderson (play-by-play), Charles Barkley (analyst), Dick Vitale (analyst) and Jenny Dell (reporter) on the call.

Should Texas win its First Four contest against NC State, the Longhorns would advance to play No. 6 seed BYU in the NCAA First Round on Thursday, March 19 in Portland, Oregon. Thursday’s contest is slated to tip at 6:25 p.m. Central (4:25 p.m. Pacific), and the contest will be televised nationally by TBS.

This marks the 40th overall appearance by the Longhorns in the NCAA Tournament. UT will make its 24th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 27 seasons (not including the 2021 postseason which was canceled due to COVID-19) and is just one of seven schools nationally to appear in at least 24 of the last 27 NCAA tourneys. The Longhorns also are one of just six schools to appear in at least 32 of the last 37 NCAA Tournaments.

Texas will be making its sixth-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament (2021-22-23-24-25-26). This marks the longest streak for the Longhorns since UT made 14-straight NCAA tourney appearances from 1999-2012.
