This is probably not the year for that big $165-per-person Dallas hotel brunch.

If you’re counting your Easter eggs, here are four buffets for less than $30, and more options for lunch with family April 5.

First of all, a reminder: Joe T. Garcia’s takes a holiday every Easter. The family’s Esperanza’s Cafe is open at two locations, sells a similar Sunday menu and takes credit cards.

Here’s a quick trip around an Easter basket of brunches:

Buffets for less than $30

Every part of Tarrant County has a homey Sunday buffet with bargain prices for Easter:

Beacon Cafe, 7432 Denton Highway, Watauga, will offer its weekly $20 Sunday buffet ranked among the county’s best.

It starts at 7 a.m. featuring an omelet station, fresh fruit, dishes like smoked sausage or chicken enchiladas and its first-rate pancakes, plus biscuits, cobblers and desserts.

Beacon is known for pineapple pancakes, but they also come with a choice of six other toppings; thebeaconcafe.com.

• Division Street Diner, 1800 W. Division St., Arlington, will expand its popular weekly Sunday buffet to add prime rib and ham along with omelets, chicken-fried steak and other regular offerings.

The Easter price is $28.99, and service starts at 10 a.m.; divisionstdiner.com.

Heaven’s Gate Restaurant, 3820 N. Main St, Fort Worth, offers a homestyle lunch buffet every day. It will expand on Easter to include brisket, pork ribs and lamb along with traditional home cooking.

The Heaven’s Gate lunch buffet on Easter will start at 11 a.m. and cost $25.99. A breakfast buffet will start at 7 a.m. for $13.99; heavensgaterestaurant.com.

Willhoite’s, 432 S. Main St., Grapevine, serves an elaborate $21 buffet from 10 a.m. every Sunday with omelets, waffles, entrees, salads and cinnamon rolls.

It’s a quarter-mile walk north of from the Grapevine TEXRail station, a potential Easter outing. Trains run every half-hour from Fort Worth, north Fort Worth or North Richland Hills; willhoites.com.

• The Omni Fort Worth hotel, 1300 Houston St., is regularly the best holiday buffet in town.

This brunch usually books up, so call soon. The menu includes Easter ham, steamship round and roast chicken, plus breakfast items, pastas, salads, chilled shrimp, sushi, and 12 different dessert cakes, tarts, cookies and ice creams.

Also in Fort Worth, Toro Toro in the Worthington Renaissance will serve a $75 buffet including — yes — prime rib-eye.

The Crescent hotel buffet in Emelia’s is $125, but it’s mostly booked.

• Between Fort Worth and Dallas, the signature holiday buffet is in Knife at the Ritz Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, 4150 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving.

It’s a $135 buffet including egg decorating with the pastry chefs; ritzcarlton.com.

In Grapevine, the Gaylord Texan Resort has several buffets including a new offering for $125 in the Old Hickory Steakhouse.

Bacchus at Hotel Vin did not publish a menu, but did publish a $116 price. That includes an Easter egg hunt.

In Southlake, the Westin and Henley hotels are promoting Easter buffets.

Many other hotels will serve a special Easter lunch menu.

Odds and ends

• Blue Mesa Grill, 612 Carroll St., will open at 10 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday to serve its long-standing holiday buffet including tenderloin chimichurri, ginger-chipotle ham and red chile salmon, plus Southwestern dishes. It’s $50 including mimosas.

• Bricks & Horses in the posh-western Bowie House Hotel, 3700 Camp Bowie Blvd., will offer a family-style $95 brunch menu. Tables are available early or late.

• The top-rated Chumley House, 3230 Camp Bowie Blvd., will open and serve a $125 brunch menu. Another high-rated restaurant, Clay Pigeon, 2731 White Settlement Road, will serve a special $55 menu.

• 97 West Kitchen + Bar at the Hotel Drover, 200 Mule Alley Drive, will offer a $76 menu but is mostly booked.

• Restaurant506 at the Sanford House, 506 N. Center St., Arlington, has a $75 special menu.

• The Taste Community Restaurants, publicly funded restaurants where you pay whatever you can give to support others, will serve a special Easter menu from 9 a.m. at both locations, 1200 S. Main St. in Fort Worth and 200 N. Cooper St. in Arlington.

• Texas de Brazil steakhouse, 101 N. Houston St., will open at noon and has a buffet with meats served tableside. It’s very popular at holidays.

• Nicer brunch restaurants like Cafe Modern, Caterina’s, Dos Mares, Fixe, Le Margot, the new Meraki, Pacific Table, Press Cafe, Reata or NM Cafe at Neiman Marcus have tables available but have not announced any special menu or prices.

• Most prime steakhouses will be open such as the Del Frisco’s restaurants, B&B Butchers, Wicked Butcher, Truluck’s, Perry’s, Ruth’s Chris and Eddie V’s and corporate cousin Capital Grille.
