SAN ANTONIO – Jury selection is expected to begin today in the trial of the man accused of killing a pregnant mother and her boyfriend around Christmas 2023.

Investigations say Christopher Preciado, 19 at the time, shot and killed Matthew Guerra, Savanah Soto and her unborn child on Dec. 21, 2023 during an apparent drug deal.

A days-long search for the couple ended the day after Christmas when their bodies were found inside Guerra’s silver Kia Optima. The car had been abandoned in an apartment parking lot on Danny Kaye Drive.

The day after the bodies were discovered, San Antonio police released surveillance video showing persons of interest in the investigation. The video showed an individual exiting a gray Chevy Silverado and speaking with the driver of Guerra’s Kia Optima, who did not match descriptions of the victims. The individual was then seen wiping down the outside of the car door with a towel.

Police later identified the people in the video, which led to the arrests of Ramon and Christopher Preciado on Jan. 3, 2024.

Christopher’s father, Ramon Preciado, is accused of helping his son move the bodies to a nearby apartment complex.
