ARLINGTON, Texas — A 23-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle while riding her moped in Arlington, according to the Arlington Police Department.
The incident occurred on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 8:36 a.m. near the intersection of Carter Drive and Sunflower Drive. Officers responded to reports of a person struck by a vehicle and found the woman trapped underneath a car.
Investigators determined that the woman was traveling northbound on Carter Drive on a 2026 Yamaha Vino Moped when a 2014 Nissan Sentra pulled out in front of her from an alleyway. In an attempt to avoid the collision, she laid the moped on its side but fell and was run over.
The moped operator, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Nissan Sentra remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once next of kin have been notified, stated the Arlington Police Department.
