EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Adoptable pets took center stage Sunday, March 15, during the Pawscars, a red carpet-style pet awards event aimed at supporting nonprofit organizations in El Paso.

The event, organized by Lilian and Jaime Blanco of Capture That Pooch Pet Photography alongside the Rescue Re-Shot Project, brought together animal lovers, rescue groups, and vendors for an afternoon celebrating pets in search of “furever” homes.

Funds raised from the event benefited three nonprofit organizations in the El Paso community: the Rescue Re-Shot Project, Huckleberry Hound Dog Rescue and Luna’s Fosters, which work to raise awareness and help animals get adopted.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees had the opportunity to meet adoptable pets dressed in Hollywood glam. Guests were also able to shop from local vendors and get access to pet services such as free microchips and low-cost vaccines.
