Harrison Ford may be done with regularly visiting Wichita, but the famous actor still stops by Fort Worth from time to time.
The Wichita Eagle reported last week that Ford has not been publicly seen in the city for the past two years, which is unusual for the actor. Like clockwork for years, Ford visited Wichita when he needed to train on a Cessna flight simulator and have his plane serviced.
Ford, 83, an avid pilot, is known for flying and owning several planes and helicopters.
The actor’s Wichita absence is related to FlightSafety International moving its Cessna Citation Sovereign simulator out of the city.

Harrison Ford’s Fort Worth connection
Ford visits Fort Worth regularly to update his helicopter pilot training at Bell Helicopter.
His son, Ben, is a celebrity chef. So, when Ford is here, he likes to sample the city’s culinary delights.
Ford was last spotted at downtown’s 61 Osteria in 2023. The Italian restaurant is also a favorite of Taylor Sheridan-verse stars when they’re in town filming Landman and Lioness.
Over the years, Ford has been spotted at Taco Heads, Istanbul Grill, Thai Terrace and Brewed.
In 2015, he was seen at such Magnolia Avenue hangouts as Ellerbe Fine Foods, Shinjuku Station, cocktail bar The Usual and its sister pub The Chat Room, as well as Del Frisco’s Double Eagle, downtown cocktail bar Thompson’s and at Woodshed Smokehouse.
In 1999, he caused a bit of a tizzy when he and a couple of friends were seen dining at Angeluna, the restaurant that was then across from Bass Hall downtown, according to Star-Telegram archives. There happened to be a Brooks & Dunn concert at Bass Hall that night, and concertgoers were able to get a good view of Ford and his party, who were dining on the Angeluna patio.
“Sisters Gloria and Adelaide Moncrief, along with their Country Day School friend Melissa Flory and J. Brooks, a student at Arlington Heights High, thought Harrison would surely want to see the Brooks & Dunn show,” then-Star-Telegram writer Mary Rogers reported.
The girls were given permission to approach Ford, who politely declined, saying, “I’ve got school in the morning” — which most people interpreted as a reference to his taking flying lessons at the time.

Ford’s career has resurged over the last decade.
In 2015, he reprised his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens to much acclaim. A couple of years later, he stepped back into another famous role as Deckard in Blade Runner 2049.
He also had one last hurrah as Indiana Jones in Dial of Destiny in 2023.
In 2022, Ford entered the Yellowstone world as a Dutton descendant in prequel series 1923. A year later, Ford starred in the therapist comedy series Shrinking. If that wasn’t enough, he appeared as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World.
The only upcoming project Ford has on the books is the fourth season of Shrinking, which was renewed in January ahead of its season 3 premiere. Just a couple of weeks ago, Ford was awarded a Life Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild.
