DENTON, Texas – The Iowa State tennis team dropped the third match of its Texas trip in a hard-fought battle to North Texas, 4-3, on Monday evening. The Cyclones drop to 2-10 on the season with the loss. 

In doubles, Ashlee Narker and Stanislava Shulzhenko held a 6-5 lead on Court 1, but couldn’t finish the job after UNT wins on Courts 2 and 3 clinched the doubles point. 

In singles, the Cyclones picked up three victories from Stanislava Shulzhenko on Court 2 (6-4, 7-5), Julia Camblor on Court 3 (6-4, 6-2) and Alicia Dale on Court 5 (6-0, 7-6) to tie the match up at 3-3, before the Mean Green’s Carolina Laydner ultimately clinched the match on Court 1. 

The Cyclones will be back in action at home against UCF on Friday, March 20 at 4 p.m.
