Austin’s favorite spring tradition is back! ABC Kite Fest returns to Zilker Park on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for its 98th year — and it’s completely free. Expect colorful kites filling the sky, live music and family-friendly fun all day!
What to expect:
The Exchange Club Kite Contest & Showcase (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.): The free-to-enter community contest is open to all ages and kinds of kites. Alongside the contest, check out the ABC Kite Fest showcase, featuring some of the world’s premier kite flyers showing off their skills.
MossFest children’s concert (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.): The family-friendly staple is back with a lineup that includes Barton Hills Choir, Tio Toto, The Reen, Mr. Will, The Ollie & Sara Show, DiscoTex and Saul Paul.
The Kids Club (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.): The Kids Club is bursting with activities for children of all ages, including FREE bounce houses, face painting and more.
Pet Zone (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.): There’s something for everyone at the ABC Kite Fest—including your pups! The Pet Zone features an off-leash pet playground and numerous vendors offering toys, food and services for your pets.
Food & drink (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.): Throughout the day, festival attendees can snack on local favorites including Amy’s Ice Creams, La Ola Pop, Wetzel’s, Heros Gyros and The Corndog Company.
How to get there:
Pre-paid parking and shuttle bus passes are available on the ABC Kite Fest website (abckitefest.org). The event is also accessible via CapMetro Routes 3 and 803 along with the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. Austinites can also take advantage of the ABC Kite Fest’s VIP experience, the High Flyer Club, which includes early entry to the festival, access to reserved, pre-paid parking, specialty food options and private air-conditioned restrooms.
