A man in his 40s was shot and killed in a residence on McKinney Falls Parkway, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
AUSTIN, Texas — An investigation is underway after a deadly shooting Sunday night in southeast Austin.Â
According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), a man in his 40s was shot and killed at a home on McKinney Falls Parkway.Â
Law enforcement said they received a call shortly after 8:50 p.m. Sunday from a woman who said a neighbor was shot.Â
Once on scene, the TCSO found a man who was shot and injured. They tried to provide medical assistance, but the man was pronounced dead at 9:29 p.m. Sunday. His identity has not yet been shared with the public.Â
The TCSO said the shooting suspect initially left the scene but has since been identified as 23-year-old Austin resident Isaiah Dominick Esquivel. He was subsequently charged with murder and placed in the Travis County Jail. Â
Responders believe Esquivel knew the residence of the apartment but their exact relation is currently unclear.
