Americana band The Lumineers performed a free public concert in Waterloo Park during the South by Southwest Conference and Festivals in Austin.

Thousands of fans gathered in the downtown park to watch the group’s performance despite unusually cold weather for the festival. The show featured frontman Wesley Schultz and drummer Jeremiah Fraites leading the band through their mix of folk-influenced rock and singalong anthems that have made the Lumineers one of the most recognizable acts in modern Americana.

The concert was held to celebrate the debut of Rivian’s new R2 electric vehicle and was open to the public, offering SXSW attendees and Austin residents a chance to see the band without a festival badge.
