(CNN) – Gas prices are entering their third week of steady increases.
As of Monday, the average price for a gallon of gas stood at $3.72, the highest price for regular gas since October 2023.
President Donald Trump appealed to several countries over the weekend to help open the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran’s military has kept the vital waterway virtually closed since strikes there began.
So far, no nation has committed warships to help secure the waterway.
Since the start of the conflict in Iran, gas prices have surged 74 cents a gallon.
