Texas (26-1, 6-0 SEC) is still behind No. 1 Tennessee, but leapfrogged No. 3 Texas Tech in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll released Tuesday. After not receiving any first-place votes in last week’s poll, the Longhorns received seven first-place votes while garnering 737 total points. Tennessee received 23 of the 31 first-place votes while picking up 767 points.

The latest rankings reflect the SEC’s continuing dominance. Five of the top six teams come from the conference, including No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Florida and No. 6 Oklahoma. Overall, 11 SEC teams earned a spot in the poll.

After sweeping Ole Miss in an SEC series last week, Texas takes a break from conference play with a home-and-home two-game stand against Baylor this weekend.

Duke (62), North Carolina (49), Purdue (21), Utah (20), Washington (14), Southeastern Louisiana (10), Belmont (6), Baylor (5), North Florida (4), USF (2), Ole Miss (1).
